Torque sensitive CAM type LSD with an "Even Bias Type" mechanism was utilized in a front wheel drive system for the first time, in the IMPREZA which was released by Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. on Oct. 24,2000.

Torque sensitive CAM type LSD(Limited Slip Differential) developed by Fuji Univance Corporation was adopted into the front wheel drive of the IMPREZA for the first time, which was released on to the market on October 24, 2000 by Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd.

The new type LSD is compact, light weight and simple, ensuring stable driving with maximum torque performance when there is a differential between the right and left wheels on rough roads or during cornering.

This new LSD, which was jointly developed by Fuji Univance Corporation and Automotive Products in England in conjunction with a new "Even Bias Type" system.
With this new mechanism, the torque bias ratio of the right and left become equal and the torque characteristics become the same, allowing even more stable driving with its adoption to front wheel drive.

Its structure is simple and the size is as compact, requiring the same space as a standard differential. Because this new LSD in itself has both functions of absorbing the differential and limiting the differential. There is no need to add a limited slip differential mechanism.
In comparison to other LSD, the range of torque bias ratio is wider, with a maximum torque performance available.
It is compatible with ABS and the same lubrication oil for the conventional differential can be used. There is no noise as with other mechanical LSD.
